The Simple Hack to go from Busy to Productive

When I talk to people about their business what I hear more than anything is, "I'm so busy" and "I don't have time to get it all done." It's insanely frustrating to feel like you're already working 24/7 in your business but if you just had more time to get everything done, it would all click.

 

The truth is, you don't need more time. You need focus and a plan.

When I hear my peeps say, "I don't have time" what they're really saying is, "I have no idea what I should actually be working on to grow my biz sooo I'll just do all the things and hope like hell something sticks." Good news: we can fix that!

 

Ready to find out what's the highest & best use of your time RIGHT now? Follow these steps:

  • Grab a piece of paper and a pen (remember those?!)

  • Write your biggest business wins on the right hand side (signing first client, getting first speaking gig, etc.)

  • On the left side, write down the tasks you spend time completing every day for your business (checking email, posting to social media, going to a networking event, etc)

  • Then, draw a line from the big win on the right to the activity that directly led to that win

Those tasks on the left with the lines leading directly to wins? That's the gold for you to mine.

 

Those are the activities that are high-impact and achieve tangible results and that, my friend, is where you should spend the most time.

 

How do I know this? Because of the Pareto Principle (aka the 80/20 rule) that 80% of our results come from just 20% of our effort. It's science!
