6 Must-Haves on Your Website

When peeps land on your website, what's it like for them? Is it like they lost their compass and are doomed to wander through the desert alone?  

 

Or is it well sign-posted every step of the way and they're like, "oh cool! I know how to get where I'm going!"

(you want it to be the latter, btw)

 

Listen: you don't have to have a 10000% flawless, professionally-designed website to start, or even grow, your business (real talk: I still don't have a perfect website (I don't think they actually exist)...I tinker with that stupid thing all.the.damn.time.)

 

But! One thing that'll help you big time is making sure your website answers these essential questions once a new visitor lands.

 

Do yourself a solid and check this quick & dirty tip sheet before you start or update your website so your visitors can know for sure...

  • Is this for me? --> this is where you attract the right people or repel the wrong ones with a simple one sentence statement (some call this a power sentence) on what you do, who you do it for and the result they get

  • Can I get a result now? --> this is where you need to have a quick-win opt-in freebie that you can give for visitors in exchange for their email address (don't have an email list? let's talk, boo! I can help you with that!)

  • Where do I go next? --> make sure each page of your site has a clear Call To Action (CTA). What do you want them to do on each page? Book a discovery call? Get on a waitlist? 

  • Who are you? --> humanize your brand! tell the visitor you understand where they are, because you've been there before. Add in a couple deets about yourself

  • Can I trust you? --> gain some critical "social proof" by sharing a testimonial or two (haven't had a customer yet? No sweat! Go here to learn how to get a testimonial even if you're brand new!)

  • How can I work with you/buy from you? if they're ready to pull the trigger (or at least learn more) give a brief snapshot of your process. What's the first step? What happens next?
